A friend passed this recipe on to me some time back. It is delicious and simple to make!
Italian Salad Dressing
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon white sugar
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/8 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 cup vinegar (white, red wine, or balsamic)
2/3 cup olive oil (you can use vegetable oil to cut cost)
Combine everything and shake it up. Let it sit and soften all the dried herbs. Do not refrigerate because the olive oil will solidify in the refrigerator. RECIPE: HOMEMADE RANCH DRESSING: 1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk (if you do not like buttermilk, just leave it out and increase your mayonnaise to 1 cup)
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
In a large bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream, chives, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes - 1 hour before serving.
